Fronheulog care home in Llandrindod Wells is under threat of closure.
Hafal Crossroads, responsible for running the home, say it needs significant work to be brought up to a reasonable standard and financial pressures are making this difficult.
Fronheulog is registered for a maximum of 25 users, is currently home to 20 residents, and employs 32 staff.
Kirsty Williams commented:
“This news is obviously extremely worrying to the current residents, the staff, and their families.
“I have spoken to Hafal, the appropriate minister in the Welsh Government, and have been in contact with the Council to encourage parties to explore all options to keep the care home open and to ensure patient care does not suffer.”
