The Welsh Government has announced £5million to help eradicate sheep scab. The funding, through the Rural Development Programme, follows a recent proposal from industry representatives.
Kirsty Williams, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Brecon and Radnorshire, said:
“Sheep scab is one of the most contagious diseases of sheep, affecting sheep welfare and having an economic impact for farmers. Last November industry representatives put together a proposal to tackle the disease. This funding has followed that proposal, and is a positive step forward.”
