Presteigne to benefit from almost £300,000 in road safety funding

Presteigne will benefit from £299,530 in Welsh Government funding to improve road safety.

The funding, confirmed on 22nd March, aims to create safer access to the two schools and reduce congestion in the area.

The application was made by Powys County Council, as part of the Welsh Government’s Safe Routes in Communities scheme.

Kirsty Williams commented:

“This is good news for the community. The Town Council mentioned how important the funding could be to me, and I wrote to the Cabinet Secretary expressing that, so I’m glad to see it has been approved.”
