Kirsty Williams AM has welcomed the news that 5 projects in Brecon and Radnorshire have been awarded a total of £48,340 in National Lottery funding in May 2019.
The funding has been allocated to:
Beat It Percussion CIC, who will deliver drumming sessions for people with dementia and their carers. The £9,870 grant will fund music sessions, training days and resources, volunteer expenses, evaluation, and instruments.
Crickhowell High School Friends Association, to run a Summer School Programme to help support Year 6 pupils with the transition to secondary schools. The £9,870 grant will also ensure 30 Year 10 pupils are provided with ‘Bullies Out’ training to provide peer-support to younger pupils.
Hay-on-Wye CP School, who receive a £9,985 grant to install play equipment for use by the community helping local children to develop and grow.
Ysgol Y Mynydd Du, to provide play equipment for pupils, after school clubs, holiday clubs, and the local community to use. The £10,000 grant will fund artificial grass and a trim trail.
Bwlch y Sarnau Community Centre Committee, who will use a £8,690 grant to increase the use of their hall by installing sensor lighting outside to reduce hazards, and making it warmer during the winter.
