Kirsty visited First Steps nursery in Llandrindod Wells, along with the Minister for Lifelong Learning and the Welsh Language.
The visit offered an opportunity for First Steps nursery to meet the Minister and have some questions answered.
Alun Davies' responsibilities include early years learning and the Foundation Phase, and staff at First Steps discussed their role in implementing the Foundation Phase, along with questions about their funding.
Commenting on the visit, Kirsty Williams said:
"I am glad the Minister was able to visit First Steps nursery. This nursery, along with many others in Brecon & Radnorshire and indeed across Wales, offers a service that is so important to children and parents".
"It's important that Welsh Government policies are as simple as possible to implement, which is in the interests of the people that benefit from them".
"We are grateful for the work that nurseries do, and I hope that First Steps nursery found the chance to talk to the Minister useful".
