Kirsty presents Crickhowell school council with School Ambassador Status

Kirsty Williams presented Crickhowell High School Council a certificate on behalf of the Welsh Assembly, acknowledging their work at engaging with the Assembly.

Crickhowell High School is the first secondary school in Mid-Wales to gain School Council Ambassador status.

The School Council Ambassador scheme aims to get school councils more directly involved with the work of the Assembly.

Certified schools have an outreach visit to learn about the Assembly, submit a blog to the Your Assembly website, and agree to take part in future consultations on things that affect young people.

School Council Ambassadors across Wales will create a database of schools that that help the Welsh Assembly hear the views of young people.

Kirsty said:

“I was really delighted to be able to present the school council with this award. It is so good to see young people taking an interest in politics.”
