£820,000 Flying Start childcare boost for Priory Church in Wales School

Kirsty Williams has welcomed the news that Priory Church in Wales School will benefit from £820,000 in Flying Start funding, boosting its childcare provision.

The money will be used to create new facilities for the current school. The new site will offer Flying Start childcare, Childcare Offer places, and a Flying Start office base. It is part of nearly £3million of funding that has been allocated to 50 projects across Wales.

Flying Start is an early years programme that has four key elements: childcare provision; early language development support; parenting support; and an enhanced health visitor service.

Kirsty Williams, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Brecon and Radnorshire, said:

“This is really welcome news. Improving childcare provision can have real benefits for families, both in the short-term and in the long-term. It is a significant sum of money and should be a boost to the school and its community.”
