Transport Grant Delay

Welsh Liberal Democrat Enterprise, Innovation and Networks spokesperson, Kirsty Williams, has expressed concern that the Assembly Government has failed to announce this year's transport grant allocation.

In previous years, the announcement has been made at the beginning of February, but this year it appears to have been delayed.

Ms Williams said: "I will be writing to the Minister to ask when he intends to make this announcement. It is already three weeks later than it has been in previous years, and there are communities across Wales anxiously waiting to hear whether the schemes they are eager to begin will receive the funding that they need.

"I sincerely hope that this delay has nothing to do with it being an election year - the matter is just too important to local authorities and to communities across Wales for it to be treated in that way."
