Welsh Liberal Democrat AM for Brecon and Radnorshire, Kirsty Williams, visited Anchorage Stores and Post Office this week to congratulate them on their recent achievement.
The shop, based at the caravan park in Bronllys, was voted joint runner-up at the regional stage of the Best Rural Post Office competition run by Royal Mail.
Ms Williams said: "I was delighted to learn that Anchorage Post Office had received this recognition. Many Post Offices are struggling at the moment, due to the Labour Government's changes to the Post Office Card Account and TV licence, and it is nice to have some good news about Post Offices for a change.
"This shop clearly offers a much valued service to its customers, but for amenities such as this to survive, we are going to have to hope that the Government stops its relentless attack on Post Offices, and starts looking at what it can do to support local services."
