Welsh Liberal Democrat Enterprise, Innovation and Networks spokesperson, Kirsty Williams, is to visit a leading high-tech manufacturer, to discuss attracting more green industry to Wales.

Ms Williams will visit IQE's headquarters in Cardiff tomorrow, to learn more about the wafers they make for solar cells.

Ms Williams said: "I want to see Wales at the forefront of the 'green revolution', with manufacturers producing the sort of cutting-edge products which will reduce our carbon footprint, improve our energy efficiency, and ensure our commitment to sustainability becomes a reality.

"There is already some important work going on in Wales, and IQE is one example of the talent and expertise we have here. Renewable energy, along with other green industries, is a growing sector that offers massive economic opportunities, and Wales can ill-afford to miss the boat."
