Local AM attends website launch

Welsh Liberal Democrat AM for Brecon and Radnorshire, Kirsty Williams, was pleased to attend the launch of a new mental health website for Powys.

The launch was one of a number of events across the constituency being held as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Ms Williams said: "I am delighted to see this new service is to be offered, and have no doubt it will soon prove a valuable resource for those wanting to access material relating to mental health. One in four of us will suffer from mental illness at some point in our lives, and anything that can be done to help people access the treatment that they need, or to support those caring for those with mental illness, must be a welcome step forward."

The website, www.powysmentalhealth.org.uk, is being developed by Powys Social Care Services, Powys LHB, Powys Agency for Mental Health and Powys Mental Health Alliance. The site, which is nearing completion, will be a quick way of accessing information on services, events, news and training.
