Welsh Liberal Democrat AM for Brecon and Radnorshire, Kirsty Williams, has expressed her concern over the number of police on duty in the constituency.
Ms Williams has written to the Chief Superintendent after hearing reports of call outs unanswered because of a shortage of policemen.
Ms Williams said: "I was told that one Saturday there were only three policemen on duty for the whole of the Crickhowell, Brecon and Hay areas. Local residents, myself included, are becoming increasingly worried about the effect this manpower shortage is having on their ability to respond to calls. Individual policemen and women are working extremely hard to try and keep us safe, but without adequate resources they are unable to do their job. I look forward to the Chief Superintendent's response, and hope that measures will be put in place to ensure that sufficient staff are on duty to deal with problems when they arise."
