Kirsty Williams, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Brecon and Radnorshire, visited Ystradgynlais Job Centre on Monday 23rd October.
The visit happened as the rollout of Universal Credit continues to prove controversial.
Staff at the Job Centre outlined support they can give to people affected by the change to Universal Credit.
Kirsty Williams, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Brecon and Radnorshire, said:
“The implementation of Universal Credit is proving problematic, and my Liberal Democrat colleagues in Westminster are calling for a pause in the rollout.
“Regardless, it is vital that people are given the support they need through the changes. Staff explained how work coaches can act as a first point of contact for anyone struggling, providing face to face or digital advice and signposting them to the necessary support.
“In Brecon and Radnorshire we have Job Centres in Ystradgynlais, Brecon and Llandrindod Wells and I would encourage anyone worried about Universal Credit to consider the support available from these facilities.”
