First Minister opens burger factory in Llanelwedd

A £4million investment has led to the opening of a new burger manufacturing facility in Llanelwedd.

It was opened by First Minister Carwyn Jones, with Kirsty Williams AM and other relevant parties in attendance.

The Burger Manufacturing Company already produces more than 37.5million burgers each year, and this purpose-built unit will allow them to develop and expand.

The Welsh Government has supported the project with grant aid.

Kirsty Williams said:

“The new facility will protect current jobs at the plant but will also allow for the expansion in production and employ additional people. It’s good news for the local economy.”
